What: ‘Silent’ outdoor cinema
Where: ZSL London Zoo
When: Tuesday 6th September – Saturday 10th September 2016, 6:00pm – 11:00pm

This September, animal lovers can watch their favourite films surrounded by their favourite animals – when ZSL London Zoo brings the silver screen to the great outdoors!

Silent Cinema will run for just five nights, kicking off on Tuesday 6 September with the classic adventure flick Jumanji, followed by Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls, ‘80s classic Gorillas in the Mist and Disney’s The Lion King.

Mixing motion pictures with pygmy hippos, movie-goers will be completely immersed in the sights, sounds and scents of the animal kingdom when the Zoo’s very own safari guides take guests on a pre-movie twilight tour around specially-chosen enclosures.

Then, when the Zoo’s residents are tucked up in bed, film buffs will make their way to the lawns where they can choose to feast on a wild range of gourmet grub before cosying up for the big-screen spectacular.

Aired on a huge screen in the heart of the Zoo, the cinema appears to be completely silent, with the film broadcast via FM radio headsets, which means the late night flicks won’t keep the animals up past their bedtime.

In July, the Zoo launched an online competition for film fans to choose the Friday night screening: more than 8,000 people cast their vote, choosing cult-classic Withnail and I, from a selection of movies featuring scenes filmed at ZSL London Zoo, including Wimbledon and American Werewolf in London.

With only 540 places per night, Silent Cinema is expected to sell-out quickly. Book now to secure your place at London’s wildest cinematic experience. Tickets available to purchase at www.zsl.org.
